Perimenopause Evaluation

Navigating perimenopause and menopause can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to go through it alone. Our dedicated perimenopause and menopause evaluations are designed to give you clarity, support, and a personalized plan to manage this significant life transition.

Perimenopause and menopause mark a significant life transition for many women, often accompanied by uncomfortable symptoms and questions about health changes. Unfortunately, the abundance of conflicting information and unqualified sources on menopause can make it difficult to know where to turn for reliable support. At Vida Family Medicine, you’ll receive compassionate, science-backed care from a board-certified internist dedicated to helping you understand and navigate this stage of life with confidence.

Why Choose a Board-Certified Internist?

The menopause and perimenopause space is filled with non-experts and misinformation, often leading women to costly, ineffective, or even harmful solutions. Dr. Anushree Kumar is a board-certified internist who offers a unique blend of expertise and empathy, guiding you through perimenopause and menopause with a balanced, evidence-based approach. With training in internal medicine, Dr. Kumar understands not only menopause-specific concerns but also how this stage of life affects your broader health picture, including cardiovascular, bone, and mental health.

What to Expect During Your Evaluation

Your personalized evaluation is designed to address your needs over the course of two comprehensive visits:

Visit 1: In-Depth Assessment

During your first visit, we take the time to fully understand your health history, symptoms, and concerns. This initial consultation includes:

  • Comprehensive Review of Medical History & Symptoms: We’ll talk through any changes you’ve noticed in your body, such as mood shifts, hot flashes, changes in sleep, and any other symptoms impacting your quality of life.

  • Physical Exam: A full physical examination helps us to gain a baseline understanding of your health and identify any potential areas of concern.

  • Order of Targeted Testing: We’ll recommend any necessary lab tests, such as hormone panels, metabolic markers, or bone density tests, to get a comprehensive view of your current health.

Visit 2: Results Review & Personalized Treatment Plan

In the second visit, we’ll review the results of your tests and take a holistic look at how perimenopause or menopause is impacting your health. Based on this information, we create a personalized treatment plan that aligns with your lifestyle and wellness goals, which may include:

  • Lifestyle Adjustments: We’ll discuss realistic, sustainable changes in areas like nutrition, exercise, and stress management to help alleviate symptoms.

  • Safe, Evidence-Based Treatment Options: Our recommendations may include hormone therapy, non-hormonal treatments, or other interventions based on the latest research and tailored to your unique health needs.

  • Guidance on Avoiding Non-Expert and Predatory Information: We empower you with the tools to recognize misleading information in the menopause space, helping you avoid costly and ineffective products or “quick fixes” promoted by non-experts.

Our office does not contract with any insurance companies or bill insurance companies for any services. A Superbill will be provided upon request that can be submitted for insurance reimbursement.

No-shows or cancellations with less than 24 hours notice (during business hours) will be charged the full cost of the visit. Please call or text us as soon as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.
