PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIAN IN Greater HOUSTON, TX
Bringing compassion and personalized support back into medical care
Hi! I’m Dr. Rebecca Berens
FOUNDER AND LEAD PHYSICIAN OF VIDA FAMILY MEDICINe
Through personal and professional experiences, I saw the need for a practice that accommodates those who’ve had limitations in their care due to rushed appointments, stigma and bias in healthcare settings, and inadequate insurance coverage.
This prompted me to establish Vida Family Medicine, a more inclusive and supportive environment that provides access to high quality, compassionate care for those who are often left behind by the healthcare system.
As part of this commitment, I offer weight-inclusive, trauma-informed healthcare that honors each individual's unique journey. I have a special focus on supporting individuals recovering from eating disorders, providing medical care free from weight stigma and grounded in evidence-based practices following a Health at Every Size® (HAES®) approach.
My mission is to help you manage your physical and mental health through prevention and early intervention. Taking a holistic approach to your health, I’m here to listen to your story, treat you as an individual, while also growing with you and your family.
With Vida Family Medicine, you are understood and you get the care you truly deserve.
Embrace your Vida and enjoy a fuller, healthier life.

Hi! I’m Dr. Anushree Kumar
INTERNAL MEDICINE PHYSICIAN AT VIDA FAMILY MEDICINe
I’m a board-certified Internal Medicine Physician and Menopause Society Certified Menopause Practitioner (MSCP) who loves caring for people through every stage of midlife and beyond. Over the years, I’ve worked in primary care, the hospital, and the ICU—and I’ve seen how often thoughtful, nuanced care gets squeezed into rushed visits and one-size-fits-all plans.
But as important as being a physician, I am also a parent, a spouse, a professional, a friend, and most importantly, a human. This means I can understand exactly what it feels like to be you.
I started practicing at Vida Family Medicine because I wanted something different for my patients. I believe you deserve the time and attention to talk through your symptoms, your lifestyle, your obstacles, and your goals—not just your lab results. I am proud to be part of a practice that prioritizes personalized care and easy physician access - exactly what we need in today’s fast-paced world in order to live at our very best.
Whether you’re navigating perimenopause, managing complex chronic conditions, or simply wanting to stay as healthy and active as possible, my role is to help you make sense of what’s happening in your body and what to do next. In a society of information overload and confusion, I hope to be a direct source of evidence-based, proven guidance for your health concerns. We will work together to find practical solutions that actually work for you.
I look forward to seeing you in clinic!
